Rhea Protein Attracts Allergy, Pain Sufferers

SPRINGFIELD, IL ------ A nutraceutical capsule made from powdered rhea protein is attracting increasing numbers of people who experience allergy symptoms and pain from autoimmune disorders such as fibromyalgia, according to an Illinois researcher who has patented the product.

Donna Fezler reports that protein extract from the rhea, a large South American bird related to the ostrich, is rich in the factors that generate adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and helps the body rid itself of toxins that can cause allergic reactions. She also notes that ATP aids in cleansing the system of poisons that inflame muscles and joints in people who have a variety of autoimmune disorders such as fibromyalgia, lupus, Crohn’s disease, arthritis, muscular dystrophy, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

After years of intensive research, experimentation, and testing the rhea protein on herself, family members, and hundreds of volunteers, Fezler obtained patents for two variations of the substance. The major product, ATP Boost, is marketed on the Internet by Grand Cypress Ranch at the company’s Web site, http://www.rhealiving.com.

According to researcher Fezler, toxins are absorbed into the body by a wide variety of highly-processed foods, environmental contaminants, and chemicals, especially cleaning supplies, herbicides, and pesticides. In fighting off these poisons, she explains, the body depletes its supply of ATP. This deficiency can result in pain and other disabling symptoms of autoimmune disorders that today affect one in every five Americans, Fezler said.

Citing that she has been free of pain from fibromyalgia since starting the rhea protein regimen, Fezler adds that in the past three years since her nutraceutical ATP Boost has been available, hundreds of people with pain due to autoimmune disorders have also found relief.

In open label clinical studies in 1998, involving people with allergies and autoimmune disorders, respondents reported the following results for symptom remission: allergies, 73%; pain, 77%; and range of motion improvement, 76%. Further, 73% of participants noted an increased energy level, while 65% experienced some degree of mood elevation.

The ATP Boost capsule was developed by Fezler and her husband Tripp, owners of Grand Cypress Ranch in Jacksonville, Ill. The company breeds rheas — flightless birds that weigh approximately 70 pounds as

adults. Hydrolyzed muscle and collagen protein from the rhea are the basis for ATP Boost, for which Fezler holds U.S. Patent #5,989,594. The all-natural protein supplement is not a drug and does not interact with medications, she explained. It is meant to be taken in combination with a healthy diet in an environment free of chemical poisons and food additives. A detailed explanation of ATP Boost and other rhea products, plus prices and ordering information, can be found on the Grand Cypress Ranch Web site. www.rhealiving.com.

The Fezlers moved to Illinois in 1992 and began raising the birds as a menu item for upscale restaurants. In 1996, the healthful properties of the rhea protein were discovered accidentally. Donna Fezler had suffered from the pains of fibromyalgia, one of 80-some autoimmune disorders that cause muscle and joint pain for an estimated 50 million Americans. Her

husband Tripp and their son and daughter had various allergies. After eating rhea neck meat, all experienced substantial relief, the product’s developer reported. When she enhanced the formulation, using all the rhea protein, and developed it into ATP Boost capsules, therapeutic results for the family were even more dramatic, she recalled.

At the same time, Fezler was researching why rhea chicks worldwide had such a high mortality rate. With a degree in bacteriology and several years of working in her field, including years of research on rheas, Fezler theorized that the presence of chemical toxins caused the young chicks to use the ATP in their own systems in an attempt to detoxify. That depleted their muscles and fat, with the resulting wasting causing many to die swiftly. When fed rhea meat, however, the chicks recovered.

Encouraged by the effects of rhea meat on both her family and the chicks, Fezler continued her research and documentation. Ultimately, she was awarded two patents, the first in 1998 for Rhea Oil Injection Effects, and the second in 1999 for the Therapeutic Effects of Rhea Extract.

Grand Cypress Ranch, or GCR, now uses rhea meat in its ATP Boost nutraceutical. Her customers include people suffering from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and allergies who are looking for increased energy and symptom relief. ATP Boost is sold via the Internet as GCR’s premium proprietary-branded ingredient and is marketed as a nutritional supplement under the FDA’s Dietary Supplements Act.

It is neither a medicine nor a cure, Fezler emphasizes. Rather, it provides nutritional support for increasing energy while giving people more of the protein they need to rid the body of environmental chemicals resulting from pesticides and many cleaning agents. And it is most effective when taken on a regular basis in conjunction with a healthy diet that avoids trans, refined, and hydrogenated fats, as well as chemical contaminants, she stressed.

GCR supplements include:

• ATP Boost, a high-energy supplement for people with allergies and autoimmune disorders,

•Tendon Boost, a rhea and ostrich tendon extract for those with arthritis and connective tissue disorder,

• Heart+, for people experiencing severe pain, and

• Ostrich Extract for Pets, a nutritional supplement.

GCR also produces a variety of rhea topical oils and creams to be applied externally for relief of sore, inflamed, or itching areas.

All of the nutritional supplements may be ordered online, by phone, or by mail. GCR is located at 1620 Baldwin Rd., Jacksonville, IL 62650; the phone is 217-243-7683 or, toll-free, 1-877-427-7432 outside Illinois. ALL autoimmune disorders are variations of the same theme.
They are NOT the body attacking itself.
The body is slowly and painfully dying from poisons exceeding its capacity to detoxify.
The evidence abounds in the scientific literature, but is being ignored and wrongly interpreted as
"the body attacking itself."
This is the greatest blunder of modern medicine.

There is hope, a future without pain, and an economical path that can change your life and
put you back in control.
